Shark's top-of-the-line self-emptying robotic vacuum, the ION XL is an excellent option for those who want hands-free cleaning and a high level of performance. The vacuum comes with a large bin that can store up to a month's worth dirt. It can be set to empty the bin at the end of each cleaning session to ensure long-term storage. The ION XL is one of the top robot vacuums available on the market for both carpets and hard floors. It can also sweep and mop your floor. You can control the robot with an app or voice commands. You can also design an outline of your home on demand. The robot does an excellent job of moving around furniture and can even traverse stairs and rooms that are fully carpeted with ease.

I tried the ION XL in a kitchen and family room with hardwood flooring, area rugs, and a standard debris test. It was a great job vacuuming and clearing debris, pet hair, and even some of the most stubborn carpet crumbs. It also did a great job at getting around my barstools and did not bump into them like the iRobot j7+ did in this test. The only drawback to the ION XL is that it does not detect cords, shoes or toys that are in its path. The ION XL robot cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot J7+, but it's a great option if you do not want to spend over $500 on a robotic. It is better than the eufy RoboVac 11S in most ways and is more easy to maintain and incurring lower recurring expenses. It's also better at cleaning floors with no carpet and removing pet fur, but isn't as effective on low- or carpets with higher pile.
