The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This wet/dry model comes with the upgraded AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers improved mapping and obstruction avoidance. The system uses dual-laser LiDAR which is similar to what is used in self-driving cars -- and can scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This translates to more precise mapping, quicker response times, as well as better cleaning accuracy.

It also features a rotating mopping pad made of chenille, which makes it easier to scrub tough areas as opposed to traditional mopping. In my tests the X2 Omni washed its pad in less than a second and then got to work. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models which seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was capable of navigating my room's with its corners and edges as well as make a "Zambani pattern" up and down the center of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station on a regular basis to empty the trash bin and clean the mop using hot water prior to starting another clean-up job.

The X2 Omni is as simple to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. Simply snap the dock into place, plug it in and connect it to your WiFi network at home. It takes only some minutes. You can then launch the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to dive into the settings and customize my floor plan in about 15 minutes, including creating specific areas for mopping and sweeping as well as reworking my wall-mounted furniture placements, and more. The X2 Omni performed impressively during my tests, with excellent scores in debris removal and pet hair cleaning, as well as close to perfect results in cleaning crevices and edges.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The T10 Omni from ECOVACS is a Powerful 1800Pa Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Self-Charging vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most sophisticated of the T-line offered by the brand and features the OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system, which uses dual-spinning brush for better cleaning than conventional scrubbing. It also comes with YIKO integrated, a first-of-its kind natural language processing tech that allows it to respond to a range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to map your house, create cleaning schedules, and alter settings.

The main flaw of the T10 Omni is that it's unable to switch from mopping and vacuuming in a single operation. The T10 Omni has two modes that require you to attach and remove mop heads depending on your requirements. This is fine for most households, but not so for people who have a busy schedule.

The Deebot T10 Omni is an excellent robot vacuum and delivers impressive results in our tests for pet hair. It removed more than 96% of debris from our hardwood floors. This is an excellent performance. It did an excellent job on tiles and carpets and removed 99percent of dirt.

This robot vacuum and mops comes with a large docking system that lets you clean the mop pads automatically using cool water for the mop pads. It also features an auto-emptying 3L bag that is easy to replace and robot vacuum mops hot air drying for quick and easy maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.

Like many other mopping robots like the Deebot T10 Omni, it features a wash tray in its base that cleans and dries its mop pads as it utilizes them. However, it doesn't come with an open tray, meaning that dirty water dust, dirt and other grime slowly builds up in the bottom of the tray over time.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While Anker's Eufy is well-known in the robot vacuum space, this model is its first foray into the world of mopping. It is equipped with improved intelligence with multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the type of surface you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robotic cleaner that's appealing even if the claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning does not come true.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular shape with sweeping wheels and a raised area for sensors. Flip it over, however there's a motorised floor brush plus a single side sweeper brush which pushes dirt from the edges into the main pathway of the robot's 'mouth'. It's a little smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under couches and chairs.

The mapping system is quite sophisticated and allows you to set no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. It is prone to hitting things, including its own charging station, and isn't great in climbing over carpets. It was effective in collecting pet hair off carpets. In our tests, it picked up 89.5 percent of kitty litter.

Although it's controlled through the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base that allow you to select a cleaning mode, and turn the robot on/off. These buttons can be used to create no-go areas and view real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty and will tell what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or alert you if something isn't working.

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech vacuum model can pick up pet hair, kibble and other particles with impressive efficiency. It also moves effortlessly around furniture legs. It also comes with a remarkable feature set that includes two cleaning modes, a self-emptying dock, and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. It's Wi-Fi enabled and best controlled through the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and the overall maintenance needs monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for large homes with hardwood carpet and flooring, however it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck on electrical cords, toys, or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

The robot performed well in our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It picked up everything from a single rice grain to a variety of pet food pieces in only one swipe. It had some trouble transitioning to rugs, however, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for rooms that have different flooring types and a variety of pets.

The A4s Pro is a bit expensive but it's an excellent option for those who wish to be able to leave the house hands-free so they can take on other tasks or take care chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to get rid of difficult dirt or spills. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to establish boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly model from a well-known brand is the cheapest robot we've tested yet and offers an outstanding value for cost. The basic navigation system employs a super-basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, making it less time efficient than other models on this list. It's still able to navigate under furniture and into corners. Mopping mode performed well in our tests and picked up hairs that were straying and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as durable however, it's better in removing pet hair from all surfaces. It clears bare floors more thoroughly and does a good job on carpets with a low pile and also uses smart-pathing navigational technology for superior maneuverability. It also allows you to send it to a specific room, and its sophisticated suite of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling. It even lets you to pause and resume a cleaning session which is ideal for homes with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent the tangles caused by pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying dock station can store up to 30 days of dirt prior to needing to be cleaned. It also has a set of side brushes that are angled to go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filter system is able to capture dust, dander, and allergens for a cleaner air.

This robot vacuum feels solid and well-built, and it has a smartphone app that lets you change its vacuum settings and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app also lets you view the remaining battery life and receive push notifications about any issues it encounters during its cleaning process. You can use your voice to control it with an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device, and if you don't have either of those options, you can mark areas with physical boundary strips.

The iQ excels in cleaning floors with no dirt and it does a decent job on carpets that are sagging and low-pile. However it's not able to provide the same level of autonomy as our top picks. It's also costly, and its recurring costs can become expensive over time.
