A quality robot vacuum cleaner can make a huge difference in the elimination of allergens such as pet hair and dust. Not all models are identical.

The G30 Edge is the newest model in Eufy's budget line of robot vacuum cleaners. It's a glossy black model with rose-gold and blue accents that look like a smartphone. A feature that makes the G30 Edge stand out is its ability to map your home with an electronic map that is available in the app. This lets it remember which rooms it has already cleaned, and to avoid returning to these rooms. This is a major frustration for the more basic robots that require the traditional magnetic taps to mark no go zones.

The G30 Edge also has other advantages. It comes with a "Find My Robot" mode that blasts out loud music until it is found and a directional keyboard that allows you manually move the robot. 2. Neato Botvac D-Shape

The Neato Botvac D-Shape an impressively capable robot with a plethora of features that are smart. It cleans bare floors very well, and can also climb on carpets with a high pile easily. The app offers advanced features such as boundary lines, remote access to the robot when it is in operation, and many other options.

This model is the newest in a long series of robots from Neato and features a unique "D" shape when seen from above. This design has several advantages, including better corner cleaning and a larger bin of dust than most other models. The D-shape design allows the robot to get under furniture more easily than models with a circular design.

When the first cleaning cycle when cleaning, the D-Shape will stop for a moment to make use of infrared lasers that spin to scan and evaluate the space. It isn't as good on carpets however it's still better than other robots at this price point. The Roomba i3+ EVO is also very efficient at moving between floor kinds and doesn't get caught up on transitions the way older models can. The dual multi-surface rubber brushes flex to adapt to different flooring types and are able to resist the tangles in pet hair.

The i3+ EVO's obstacle-avoiding capability isn't as effective as some of the other robots we tested, and it repeatedably hit objects in our tests like handbags, shoes, and pet toys before continuing its course. It also had difficulty dealing with coarse sea salt that it blew around instead of taking it up.

The i3+ EVO is packed with features that make it worth the extra money over other Roomba models. These include the ability to self-empty the bin and more advanced control through an app. You can plan cleaning times, set specific routines and set zones that don't want the robot to be allowed to enter. Its smart scheduling will even suggest additional cleanings during allergy seasons and according to the routine you follow. Its navigation system isn't reliable and often vacuums in irregular patterns, such as diagonals or zigzags instead of parallel to walls.

4. Shark AI Self-Empty XL

This intelligent robot is able to trace your home's layout in detail, better than you. It also has two brushes that adjust to different floor types and avoid tangling, making it the ideal choice for households with pets. You can use the app to control the robot or activate it using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The dock, which is called Omni automates tasks like filling and cleaning the robot's water tanks, emptying the debris bins, charging and drying the mop pads.

It's a fantastic value. The Shark AI Self-Empty XL is less expensive than many other robots on our list, yet it offers advanced features like mapping and an automatic self-emptying trash bin that holds a good amount of trash. It was able to clean and maneuver well in a home with a mix of carpets with low pile, bare floors and a mixture of both. The vacuum does an excellent job of picking up pet fur from carpeting. However it's not as much power as our top selections.

The Roborock S4 Max, however, is more durable, recharges much faster than the Shark and offers a broader variety of automation features and scheduling options, including support for "no-go zones". Shark is still a good choice if you want something less expensive or prefer to control and monitor your system with your phone rather than using a remote.

5. Bissell SpinWave Dry and wet

It's difficult to find a machine that combines mopping and vacuuming, but this one does exactly that. Its two-tank system can effectively vacuum or mop with the push of a button. It effortlessly shifted between different surfaces during our tests and was successful in cleaning pet hair from carpets and hardwood floors. It also has an edge-sweeping brush to clean cat hair along walls and baseboards, plus scheduling capabilities to fit your schedule.

This is a great choice if you are looking for a robot that is affordable and comes with additional features. It was able to negotiate obstacles with ease during our tests and is controlled via an app or voice. It even supports scheduled cleanings and has a large trash bin to catch the mess before it gets full. It could take up to 166 mins to complete its work however this is more efficient than other robots we have tested.

The highlight of this robot is its front-facing camera that allows you to monitor the cleanliness of your home on live maps in the app. It's particularly helpful if you're trying to find an item that you're looking for or your kids spill glitter from your holiday decorations all over your floors. You can avoid a lot frustration by finding the lost item immediately. The fade-free lithium batteries can last for as long as 130 minutes on one charge.

6. Roomba 694

The Roomba 694 appears classy and offers a thorough cleaning. It is extremely adept at moving its self and can get under low furniture without getting stuck. It got a perfect score of 10 in our test of cereal carpet, and passed our test for cat litter with only a couple of scattered pieces. It's not as efficient on hardwood floors. The side brush can scatter large pieces of cereal that cling to the floor instead of vacuuming them. It also had difficulty collecting table salt on a bare flooring, as many grains fell across the floor.

It supports app control via the iRobot HOME app, as well as voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant (via an external device, sold separately). It analyzes your cleaning habits and creates custom schedules.
